美國環保署打算要求對氣候變遷趨勢進行調適

美國環保署最近公佈17份氣候變遷調適計畫草案版，尋求公眾意見。其中7個領域包括水資源(Office of Water)、空氣與幅射(Office of Air and Radiation)、固體廢棄物與緊急應變(Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response)、化學安全與污染預防(Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention)、國際與部落事務(Office of International and Tribal Affairs)、研究與發展(Office of Research and Development)、行政與資源管理(Office of Administration and Resource Management)。另外10個領域包括新英格蘭區(Region 1與Addendum)、紐約、紐澤西與波多黎各(Region 2)、中大西洋區(Region 3)、東南區(Region 4)、大湖區(Region 5)、中南區(Region 6)、中西部(Region 7)、山脈平原區(Region 8)、西南太平洋區(Region 9)、西北太平洋區(Region 10)。(文件網址：http://epa.gov/climatechange/impacts-adaptation/fed-programs/EPA-impl-plans.html)蒙大拿州環境資訊中心的Anne Hedges女士表示，該州處於美國西北部(第8區)，冬季氣候較嚴寒，受到全球暖化影響也相當顯著。暖化與乾旱使山頂冰層縮減，山區森林易出現野火，導致空氣污染；農田病蟲害日趨嚴重，致使農藥使用量增加，造成河川受污染。這些氣候變遷的衝擊，經過地方社區的確認，並提出調適因應方案，列入氣候變遷調適計畫草案版。
